Tongariro National Park is a landmark in Ruapehu District, Manawatū-Whanganui (central North Island), New Zealand, and a filming location for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), Willow (1988) and Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016). Built in 1894 (established as New Zealand's first national park), and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is owned by The Crown (New Zealand).
