Sassi di Matera is a Troglodyte cave dwellings carved into the calcarenitic rock (tufo) landmark in Matera, Basilicata, Italy, and a filming location for The Passion of the Christ (2004), No Time to Die (2021) and The Gospel According to St. Matthew (1964) among other productions. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is owned by Italian State (state property / demanio dello Stato); managed by the Municipality of Matera (Comune di Matera) under a free 99-year concession per Law 771/1986.
